Meet the team

  • I know leadership because I’ve been there.

I am a coach, a facilitator, a developer of people and teams. Helping people access their innate wisdom and potential lights me up, and I am passionate about supporting women leaders to thrive in big jobs.

I spent two decades in public education and social sector leadership. I’ve been a non-profit CEO, a policy leader, a district executive and a superintendent. During my fifteen years as an executive, I navigated through incredible challenges, learning and growing from mistakes as well as successes. I did meaningful and high-impact work, at a high cost. Striving to fit into other people’s definition of leadership left me feeling disconnected and isolated.

It wasn’t until I learned to tap into my inner knowing that I began to lead on my own terms — embracing authenticity, rooting in the collective, and leading with intuition. Connecting who I am with how I lead allowed me to thrive as an executive and to accomplish more for communities and issues I care about.

Now I use those experiences to help (mostly) women – and specifically executives who don’t adhere to narrow and exclusionary leadership archetypes – to connect who they are to how they lead. I use simple approaches to help leaders to trust their intuition, notice their internal wisdom, root in the collective, and amplify their unique strengths. Ultimately, my work aims to help women thrive in leadership because I know that expanding female leadership benefits society.

  • When I notice inequity, I feel called to move.

My leadership has been defined by a consistent pursuit of justice, often requiring me to advocate not only for others but also for myself. As a Black, female leader, I am keenly aware of how personal identity can create professional obstacles. This experience fuels my dedication to empowering other executives, helping them navigate similar challenges, striving to make their paths less arduous than my own.

With fifteen years of experience in the education sector, I have a proven track record of building high-performing teams and cultivating a culture of accountability and results. Before co-founding Loomlight, I served first as a school principal then as Chief Learning Officer for a major charter network in Chicago. Subsequently, I joined the executive leadership team of an education-adjacent organization, where I was responsible for growth strategy, sales and business development. My diverse leadership experiences provide me with unique insight into developing others while maintaining excellence.

My approach blends strategic rigor with deep empathy. I challenge clients to move beyond their comfort zones, while providing unwavering support as they navigate complex leadership dynamics. I believe the most effective leaders embrace their unique qualities and perspectives, leveraging their authentic strengths to create powerful impact and drive exceptional results.

I promise to always listen and hold space, work alongside you and learn, to never hold my tongue and to always have your best interest at heart. It's truly rewarding to witness the clarity and purpose that emerges when we connect who we are to how we lead.
