At the beginning of our coaching engagement, we will ground our work together by taking stock and reflecting. This process is customized and might include: reflection activities, 360 interviews, and leadership inventories. This process will build leadership self-awareness and direct our work together and may be repeated during multi-year engagements.
Whenever possible coaching engagements begin with a live launch meeting. To begin our coaching together, we will meet face-to-face for an extended meeting, to dive deep on your 360 degree feedback and leadership inventories, and to set goals for coaching.
Throughout the engagement, we will meet weekly for coaching sessions. During these coaching sessions, we will focus on: your growth goals, your immediate challenges, and longer term leadership development. Sometimes during more intensive engagements, leaders opt for twice-weekly coaching.
Observation and feedback are a very powerful coaching tool for building awareness and identifying patterns in your leadership. We often support leaders by observing leaders in action (e.g. a leadership team meeting, a check-in with a direct report, a Board or community meeting) via zoom, a recording, or a silent observation. Afterwards we will debrief to surface learnings, and integrate new knowledge into practice.
With intensive and higher-support engagements, we offer live real-time coaching. Together, we’ll select a day that aligns to your priorities, such as a staff off-site, a leadership team intensive, a Board meeting, or a normal day at the office. During real-time coaching days, we will observe your leadership live and provide you with live coaching onsite. Clients find that this is a powerful way to learn and grow in leadership.
Because every leader is different, every engagement is different. We build supports that meet you where you are in your leadership trajectory. During the course of an engagement, we will likely identify activities that fall outside of the listed services and we'll work with you to meet those needs.
